MEO Executive Director, John Kinch, will be teaching a public course on “Energy, Climate and Michigan Communities” at the Seidman College of Business at Grand Valley State University in April and May 2022.
The course will provide insights into the latest energy policy, renewable energy, business sustainability, community equity, and resilience, and will feature weekly presentations from national experts as well as local case studies.
In addition to teaching, Kinch has also written an essay titled “The Sustainable Business Case for Solar on Brownfields.” In this essay, Kinch emphasizes the importance of thinking and planning deliberately when onboarding more clean, renewable energy for Michigan’s future. He believes that locating as much solar as possible on marginal lands is a great way to address land use issues while promoting the use of clean energy.
